The first Quarter of 2018 has proved to be a busy one here at RTC, with lots of different projects completed and even a chance to catch some winter sun!

Installing surfacing in Europe was certainly a nice change for our installation teams as they had spent the past few months battling The Beast From The East. Whilst the snow was certainly beautiful to look at, it wasn’t the best for installing wet pour! This said, our teams wrapped up warm and preserved to ensure all the work got completed.

At the start of the year, we were installing wet pour safety surfacing at nursery in London. The project gave our team a chance to prove their graphic skills as they recreated a map of the local area within the surfacing.

The project also included a section of wet pour installed inside the nursery, with shapes hand laid within the surface to help children with basic shape recognition.

In February we carried out work on behalf of Playdale at the Pontyberem Community Centre in Llanelli. The wet pour safety surfacing featured a black background with rocket and shooting star graphics. Going by the photos, it seems the local community had lots of fun at the grand open day!

If you follow us on social media, you may have seen one of our teams recently travelled over to Gibraltar to carry out work at an MOD site. As the installation team headed back to the UK, our office based team received a lovely email:

Morning all,

Just a massive thanks for all the help and works done. Your guys are a credit to your company, and your service was first class

Whilst the team made the long journey back from Gibraltar, another of team stayed closer to home installing approximately 5,000m² of our SUDS compliant surfacing, Enviro-pave. Enviro-Pave was the perfect choice of surfacing for the Ellenbrook Loopline Cycleway as it is non-slip and doesn’t hold water – meaning it can be used all year round.

We also carried out work for Proludic at the Woodford LEAP in Stockport. The project included approximately 560m² of wet pour that paid homage through design to the historic former aerodrome that was based in the area.

As outdoor gyms grow in popularity we installed resin bound rubber mulch across five sites in Slough for The Great Outdoor Gym Company. The project included almost 500m² of surfacing that was installed directly onto grass, with minimal base prep. Opting for resin bound rubber mulch meant the gym equipment could easily be used come rain or shine.
