Project Description

Alexandra Park, Ipswich

Old McDonald had a farm, but we bet he didn’t have any animal graphics as good as these!

Working on behalf of Kompan, we headed to Ipswich to install over 650m² of surfacing at Alexandra Park.

To match the new and inclusive play equipment, Kompan created a design that included a variety of farm yard animals, crop graphics & cow print.

All of our teams are trained in-house, with our site managers having an average of 12 years of experience on-site – so creating bespoke graphics such as these pose no problems for our teams!

In order to ensure maximum safety for the children who would be using the park, we installed the wet pour surfacing at a variety of depths, meaning our team had to install just over 12 tonne of base before they could start work on the topping layer.

Originally opened in 1904 the update to the existing play area was widely welcomed by local families with Councillor Phil Smart, Portfolio Holder for Parks at Ipswich Borough Council noting that “Outdoor play is extremely beneficial to the physical health and wellbeing of children”

Which is a statement we can wholeheartedly agree with!
