Project Description
EUSTON STREET PARK, LANCASHIRE
THE REQUIREMENTS
Euston Street Park in Northwest England was granted a £47,100 boost to enhance their residential play area.
The project came about, three years ago when Friends of Euston Street Park identified that there was a need for a new play area which received great community support and funding partners.
The aim of their project was to install new play equipment in the age 6-8 play zone which would, of course, require safety surfacing
WHAT WE DID
We were directly approached by the project’s landscaping contractors who had put together an exciting design for the safety surfacing.
Located on an old metal works site, the landscapers had delivered a complex design featuring a molten metal river representation along with free-drawn molten metal splashes that would coincide with the play equipment.
During the initial site visit, our technical representative was able to offer advice from valuable experience to enhance the design in order to improve the longevity of the safety surface.
Although a complex design, our team of expert wetpour installers were able to install the 273m² safety surfacing to meet the CFHs within 5 working days.

THE OUTCOME
The new play area has proven to be a great success within the community. We headed down to the opening of the playground and were thrilled to see the local children enjoying their new play area.
Clare Cobb, from Friends of Euston Street Park, said:
“RTC Safety Surfaces have laid the play surface beautifully. They left the site neat and tidy – it just looks fantastic! It’s lovely to see the children enjoying the playground and the surfacing really compliments the play equipment making it stand out.”
