Marvel Avengers At Westfield Shopping Centre

Over the past 25 years, we have worked on some brilliant projects and our teams have had plenty of opportunities to show their skills in graphic work. However there have been few projects that have caused as much excitement as this!

Working on behalf of Kompan, we were tasked with creating a new play area at Westfield Shopping Centre. We’ve worked at a number of shopping centres in recent years including creating a ‘biodiversity themed play area’ at Westfield Stratford, and a temporary indoor display at another Westfield site. As such, our Operations team easily organised all of the logistics needed to carry out the project within the strict deadline.

Unlike previous Westfield projects, this play area was to follow a Marvel Avengers theme, with a wetpour design that included masks, logos and items belonging to the famous superheroes. The safety surfacing design put forward by Kompan had been officially approved by members of the Marvel Avengers franchise, and so it was crucial for our team to replicate the graphics as closely as possible.

All of our wetpour graphics are hand drawn and cut by the team on site, and this project was no different. Some of the graphics within this project presented an extra challenge as they were positioned under pieces of play equipment. Our team had to work carefully to ensure that not only were the graphics completed to a high standard but also that the play equipment was not affected by our install. By working carefully but steadily our team managed to complete the install after spending 12 days on site.

The Avengers themed playground is sure to be a popular new attraction at the shopping centre, and the customer was thrilled with the overall finish. If your currently creating a new play area, our team would be more than happy to help with advice and estimates.
