Project Description

Normanby Hall

Peacock Design Safety Surfacing - Wet Pour - Normanby Hall

When you visit a country estate, there are a few things you may expect to see. Beautiful architecture, sprawling gardens, peacocks basking in the sun.

However, we bet Normanby Hall has a peacock, unlike any you have seen before!

Working on behalf of Kompan, we travelled down to Scunthorpe to install over 800m² of playground surfacing. Along with differing depths to meet the fall heights of equipment, the project also included different types of surfaces.

Our wet pour and resin bound mulch was installed as safety surfacing, whereas our SUDS compliant paving was installed in areas that would benefit from more a more hardwearing surface. Kompan supplied a design that included multiple colours and graphics such as tracks, swirls, plants and insects, giving our team a chance to apply their graphic skills. This said, the design element our team enjoyed most was creating the large peacock graphic!

In order to create the peacock, the design had to be hand drawn by our site manager.  Each colour was then installed and allowed to cure before any other colour could be laid. All in all, our team spent 12 days on site to complete the full project.
