Project Description
Westfield Stratford Shopping Centre
Working with Kompan UK, we installed over 450m² of wet pour safety surfacing in green and two shades of blue. In keeping with the theme of nature, our experienced installation team carefully created sweeping curves within the design to mimic the appearance of water rippling.
Playing outside and having the opportunity to learn about nature are some of the best parts of childhood. As such, when Westfield Stratford Shopping Centre wanted a new playground, they wanted it to include the concept of biodiversity through a pond design.
The wet pour safety surfacing was varied in depth from 50mm – 100mm in parts of the playground in relation to the critical fall heights of the individual pieces of equipment. This was to ensure the playground was in line with British and European safety guidelines. If you are unsure about the depths needed for critical fall heights (CFH) you can download our free guide here.

The 12 metre fish allowed our team to demonstrate their skill at working in restrictive areas. After the fish was installed by Kompan, our team then began installing the wet pour safety surfacing around the outside and within the fish itself.
Inside the fish the two-toned curved design was continued, showing that no place is too small for our teams to create colourful and creative safety surfaces that will help keep children safe through its anti-slip and impacting absorbing properties.
Our team leaders have an average of eight years’ experience, allowing them to finish the project and clear the site in time for the grand public opening.
